| Celadon Bowl with incised lotus petals and character "ji" (Japanese = "kichi,) "Good Luck, fortune" on interior well. Ming Dynasty China, ca.1368-1644. H.2.75"(7cm) x Dia.5.125"(13cm.) Excellent condition and suitable for Matcha Chawan (Tea Bowl) use. Very small glaze chip on rim. Most likely provenance is Longquan ware, Zhejiang Province. Celadon wares of similar design were an important export item from these kilns from the 12th through 17th Centuries. Items were exported to North & SE Asia, as well as the Middle East. | ||
